Early Arrival & Break Housing

Each semester a small number of students need to arrive to campus early due to conflicts with the check-in schedule for the residence halls.  In these situations, students need to locate the Early Arrival Request Application when it becomes available in their MyHousing account.  Students may assume their request is approved unless contacted by Residential Life regarding their request.

Break Housing

During the academic year, Residential Life provides interim housing during University vacations.  These three times are during the Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer Break.  In order to stay in housing during these times, students must register with Residential Life by completing and turning in the appropriate forms based on the timeline provided.  Questions regarding interim housing may be directed to the Residential Life Office at (413) 572-5402 or by e-mailing housing@westfield.ma.edu

Winter Break Housing

Following the completion of the Fall Semester, À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ closes for the holidays and reopens after New Year's Day.  Housing is available for students needing to return to the University beginning on the Monday after New Year's Day and ending when the University reopens for the Spring Semester.  Students are not required to return home after Winter Housing ends and prior to the halls reopening for all students.  If you need housing during the Winter Break please read the information sent to students during the Fall semester and complete the application before the deadline.

Spring Break Housing

Approximately halfway through the Spring Semester, a week-long Spring Break takes place during the second or third week of March.  During this time, À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ does not hold classes and the residence halls shut down.  However, there are some students who still have commitments on and off-campus.  This includes athletes, student teachers, and students choosing to continue their internships during this time.  If you need housing during the Spring Break please read the information sent to students during the Spring semester and complete the application before the deadline.

Summer Interim Housing

On the Monday after graduation each year, Summer Interim Housing begins.  Summer Housing is available for students who are taking summer courses, have on-campus jobs, or have other commitments requiring them to be on campus.  Summer Housing is split into two halves which coincide with the two six-week summer sessions during which classes take place.  Students may stay for the first or second session or the entire summer.  Students interested in Summer Housing must complete the Summer Interim Housing Agreement found in MyHousing.
