Whether navigating food allergies or intolerances in a new environment, or ensuring proper nutrition to fuel your projects and practices, our Dietitian is here to support you. Services provided include, but are not limited to:

  • Offering healthy eating tips for on-campus dining
  • Highlighting allergen information and nutritional content of campus food
  • Assisting with dietary needs related to:
    • Food allergies and intolerances
    • Diabetes
    • High blood pressure
    • Dietary preferences such as vegan or vegetarian
    • Religious or cultural diets
    • Other medical conditions

蓝莓视频 State Dining is committed to offering a variety of healthy menu choices for all students, including those with special dietary needs. Our focus on "stealth health" ensures that healthier options are seamlessly integrated into every meal, with an emphasis on seasonal fruits and vegetables, reduced sodium in recipes, smaller portion sizes, and increased whole grain options.

What is Stealth Health?

We incorporate a 鈥small plate big flavor鈥 concept to promote healthy portion sizes without compromising flavor. Our recipes are created with:

  • Less sodium
  • Healthier oils
  • More whole grains
  • Sustainable seafood and lean meats
  • Local produce
  • More plant-based proteins

Lunch With Our Dietitian

Every Wednesday, Megan Brown, our Registered Dietitian, will be available in the Dining Commons to provide students with valuable information and education on healthy eating and nutrition. During these sessions, students will also have the opportunity to sample nutritious foods and learn how to incorporate them into their daily meals. This is a great chance to engage with Megan and gain practical tips for maintaining a balanced diet.

Meet Our Dietitian: Megan Brown

Megan Brown is the Registered Dietitian for Dining Services at 蓝莓视频. With over ten years of experience in the dining industry, including five years as a nutritionist and one year as a dietitian, Megan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the 蓝莓视频 State community.

Specializing in working with student-athletes, Megan鈥檚 background includes a comprehensive understanding of nutritional needs and the ability to create balanced, health-focused menus. An internship with WSU Dining Services in the Spring of 2023 provided valuable insight into the creative freedom and collaborative environment that defines 蓝莓视频. This experience, along with the friendliness and family-oriented atmosphere of the community, made 蓝莓视频 an ideal place for professional growth and development.

Committed to enhancing the menus served in the Dining Commons, Megan focuses on maintaining high standards of nutrition while introducing innovative recipes. Engaging students through enjoyable and nutritious food is a top priority, ensuring that the dining experience is both fun and health-conscious.

Food Allergies and Special Dietary Needs

Our Worry Free Zone in the Dining Commons offers options that DO NOT contain the top 9 allergens. Options for gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian are also available.

The Dining Commons and Bistro are peanut and tree nut free. Please contact our team to discuss food allergies and special dietary needs. Consultations are free for all students on a meal plan.
