The Reading and Writing Center is neither a classroom nor a professor's office. The Reading and Writing Center is YOUR place to talk to us about your writing. Every writer is different, and our individual attention will help you develop your abilities in a way that is best for you.
We help you with every step
We will help you develop your abilities so that you will know how to write more effectively for school, for work, and for pleasure. In particular, we'll work with you to do the following:
- understand a writing assignment
- gather your idea
- prepare an outline
- begin a draft
- strengthen your argument
- revise a draft
- write more clearly, concisely, vividly, and engagingly
- edit for grammar, punctuation, and spelling
We help with all types of writing
Whether you are working on a research paper or a lab report for a class, a scholarship or a graduate school application, your resume and cover letter, or that novel, play, poem, or screenplay, we can help. Our writing consultants are prepared to work with students from all majors.
