Areas of Research

Dr. Pouliot is a classically trained microbiologist whose specializes in host-microbe interactions with a focus on the innate immune response. Previous research aided in the development of vaccines for the prevention HIV (UMASS) and Staphylococcus (Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women's Hospital).  The gp120-based (HIV) DNA vaccine will be entering Phase I Clinical trials later this year. Later, while working in industry, her preclinical work helped to develop a treatment for oral mucositis; A treatment that will also be entering preclinical trials this year.
