Allan Taylor came to À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ State in 2006, as an adjunct professor of music theory. During his time here he has taught a variety of other courses, including conducting, orchestration, sight singing and ear training, music history, pipe organ, and piano. He also directed the Festival Chorus, and the Chorale for three years. Outside of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ State Mr. Taylor leads an active life as a performing musician. He is the Minister of Music at the First Congregational Church, À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ, a position he has held since 1987. Mr. Taylor is also the music director of the Hampshire Choral Society, one of the larger community choruses outside the Boston area. Numbering around 120 singers, the Hampshire Choral Society regularly performs major works of the choral repertoire, with full orchestra. He held similar positions with the chamber chorus Novi Cantori, and with the Greater À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Choral Association.
