Nathan Dion ’23 graduated from ݮƵ State with a bachelor’s degree in communication, a minor in graphic design, and a double concentration in media arts and public relations. He was recently hired as the Digital Public Relations Analyst for Garvey Communication Associates Inc. (GCAi), a digital marking agency based in Springfield, MA.

“Founded in 1991, the GCAi team uses Digital Public Relations, targeted Online Advertising, and Social Media Marketing to generate measurable results for their clients,” their website reads.

Some of GCAi’s services include driving advertisements through Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. GCAi also offers live data reports to its clients, in addition to video and animation production advertising. As the Digital Public Relations Analyst, Dion’s work responsibilities include videography and editing for the company’s clientele.

“Video allows companies and businesses to tell their story in an engaging way,” according to Dion. “Through video, you’re able to see and feel the emotions and story on screen. I really feel that it is my job to capture all that in the shoot and the subsequent edit.”

John Garvey, president of the company, praises Dion’s videographer skills. “Upon meeting him, you get a feeling of quiet confidence, but also empathy from Nate,” Garvey said. “He is a calm and quiet guy. Yet, in my experience, that is what is necessary on a PR shoot. Interviewees are nervous, and Nate’s demeanor and technical expertise dissipates tension and yields a great shoot.”

Garvey was also quoted in thanking the University for the quality of its education. “It’s not easy to find qualified employees these days. For those of use working in communications, ݮƵ is incredibly important as they are essentially building our workforce year after year. I am very grateful for their support.”
