The Chemical and Physical Sciences Department offers a minor in Earth System Science designed for students majoring in General Science, Biology, Geography, Planning and Sustainability, or Environmental Science. This program provides a comprehensive foundation in key Earth system components—including the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and solid Earth—alongside an exploration of their historical development. The curriculum includes core courses such as Physical Geology, Historical Geology, General Oceanography, and Meteorology, totaling 14 credits. To deepen your understanding, you’ll select two additional upper-level courses, which may have their own prerequisites. We encourage students to consult with faculty members to tailor their academic paths effectively.
